This is my last custom painting for awhile since I'm back at school again. I'm glad we could fit "K" in, because she was such a joy to paint with! This painting suits her bright and happy personality so well!
Here's the process: Day 1
Today we started out with filling in the canvas with color. "K" was so great at keeping her paint strokes horizontal across the canvas, which creates a beautiful sky! Look at her smile while she paints! Happiest kid ever! Love it!
Next we worked on the water....Same technique of horizontal lines and blending... Then we used green to create the shadows of the waves and filled in the white spots.... Almost done for the day!
Before we called it quits, "K" used a sponge to blot in the splashes. Super fun! But I missed the pics :)"K" then started out working on some clouds, and removed the tape for the dolphin as well! Can't wait for our next meeting!
Day 2: Today we started out with blending some clouds into the sky....I got a high picture so I could see how those clouds were looking, and they looked good!
Next, I had "K" paint in the different values of dark, medium and light on the dolphin, and blend them together. It's amazing how figuring out value creates form!Darks first...then mediums and light!
Moving onto the baby!
"K" you were SO fun to paint with! I loved your happy spirit and how excited you were to create and learn! This is the perfect painting for you! Enjoy!
