Flowers for Mom and Dad

I was SO excited to work with this little lady again!  She has a natural eye for color and spacing and is so fun to collaborate with!   "P" had previously painted a picture for her own room, and had to turn down offers to buy it!    Now she was back to create another one for mom and dad's room.   There were metallics in this painting, which created a beautiful sheen.

Mom gave me the color swatch of the paint of the room, and shared some images of flowers that she liked.   Then we set up our first session!

Here is "P"  beginning work on the background for the painting.  I love that she is already smiling!

Easier to stand to paint this 3 footer!

The sides too..
.

Then some lightness....

I love her face here!

The background wasn't quite as smooth as hoped...but we decided to move onto flowers anyway, because we were both interested in starting them.

I painted the outline and "P" filled in using various shades of the green... some metallics too!

Love her smile!  So cute!
We wrapped here, which was okay- because that background just didn't do what we had hoped....soooo...

TIME FOR SESSION 2:

We repainted the background, to get it JUST RIGHT!

Bye flowers! I had her smooth out the paint and blend more...and then....

Hello again flowers!

"P" had so much fun using all those shades to fill in.  She would paint and then step back and admire, "COOL!!!"  I completely agreed.

Adding light in for dimension....

LOVELY!

Flower 2 fill in!  And some details too....

And flower 3....

We flipped the painting to finish off the last flower.

Today we painted for 2 hours!  "P" LOVES ART and painting.   When I asked if she was ready to stop,  she would say, "No, let's keep going."  I knew she was so excited to finish it and bring it home, but we decided to wrap up for the day and start fresh another day, to finish up this gorgeous painting with some final details!

Getting some last bits of paint.....

AH!  A face of happiness (and maybe some relief!  Two hours is a long haul "P"!)
But SOOOO WORTH IT!   Look at this masterpiece!   Can't wait to finish it up!

SESSION 3:

"P" was back for her last session of final touches.   I had her filling in color and shading to make each flower pop.   Time flew by while we worked.   It was so rewarding to see this piece completed!    I kept asking to keep it, but was denied.   Good thing I have lots of picture to remember it!

Darker shades....

We did some "dot to dot lines" so she knew where to place her paint strokes.

SO AMAZING!

Another beautiful painting "P"!  Sad to see it go, but at least I know I'll get to
work with you again on some more wonderful masterpieces!  I can't wait!
