What a bittersweet day! It was our final Friday art class for the spring with this AWESOME group of kiddos! These four weeks flew by! I'll miss you guys! Hopefully we will meet again in the fall for some great autumn art. To end our sessions, the older kiddos finally got to see what we would be doing with our masks. They were introduced to Tinga Tinga art from Tanzania, which is all about bright colors, dots, and simple shapes. They then chose out designs for their masks and created a background for them as well. They will choose at home whether or not to put the masks on the background permanently. Very cool results!
My little crew got to use acrylic paint and worked on a little printmaking, then simple circle painting, and a little bit of color mixing too, to create a Kandinsky-like painting. Thanks again to moms (and dad) helpers! You made this lesson successful! It was very step by step and everyone did a wonderful job!
My two oldest were just amazing on their own!
And you know what? Their little brothers weren't too shabby either! Circles are no easy feat for 4 and unders!

Final step today: Cutting out and gluing on our fish from last week. Their water worlds look amazing!
Thanks to all for a great spring of Friday art classes! I was blessed to meet such great kids and moms!
