Seahorse!

Almost 6 year old "R" was sure about a sea horse painting!  She had learned about them in Pre-K and couldn't wait to make her own, complete with sea weed and ocean water!  I loved her bright color choices and her careful painting!   Wonderful job "R"!

Session 1:  We started with a solid blue/green for the water.  We worked around my pencil sketch of the seahorse.  I could tell that she was a careful artist!

Next, "R" used a sponge and lighter colors to put in a watery, bubble affect.

Now "R" got to the fun stuff of picking out colors for her seahorse.  Pink was top of the list!

Then a blue belly! Finally we added some purple lines and then called it a day!

Love what I see so far "R"!

Session 2 was so fun!  First "R" put in her seaweed with greens.  Then she chose out some fun colors for the finishing touches on her sea horse.

Working while brother "R" finishes his lion....

Now the eye went in and then she ever so carefully traced her seahorse with purple.   Amazing steady hand!

And then, after using a sharpie to trace around the eyes (and add lashes of course!) "R's" under the sea painting was complete!   So beautiful!   I love it!
