Silly Monkeys!

My Tuesday crew was back to paint for themselves now!   Each child chose an idea for their very own paintings for their bedrooms.   Oldest kiddo "L" chose out a monkey theme with palm trees and bananas.   Very happy and colorful!

"L" wanted a sunset sky so her backdrop was a fun mix of beautiful colors.  She simply spread the paint across the canvas to mix colors.  The result was a perfect backdrop!

GREAT START!   I LOVE the beginning!   See you soon for the rest!

Session 2:
Palm trees and monkeys~  Today "L" came in to paint the sketches in!  First up were the palms.

I love little bro in the background here.   I'm getting so close to these sweet kiddos!   Just love them!  "L" was pretty excited to finish up those trees and start the monkeys!  I was working with her brother "J" at the same time so missed some pics of the process...but did get the end result!   Really, she had a sketch and got her colors and was able to work fairly independently, which worked great!

Adorable "L"!   Great idea for coconuts in the trees!  (We used a foam stamper to stick them in.)  More details next week and then done!

Session 3:  Final meeting!  To begin, I had "L" add another layer of paint to the palm trees and the monkeys.

Then we added in the faces (with her choice of colors for mouths, noses and eyes) and the vine!

Now the leaves...and she wanted small white dots for flowers on the vine as well!

Our final step was eyeballs!  Then, a completed painting.  Gorgeous sunset, bright colors, and a painting with lots of fun decisions made by "L"!   It's going to look great in your room!   Way to go painter!
