This painting was so sweet for me to work on! These two little guys were part of my Little Picasso launch! They were the first artists I worked with (after my own kids) so how fun to have them back for a Christmas gift for Grandma and Grandpa. Mom chose a very special picture of the boys fishing from a trip they took with their Grandparents to South Dakota. These two boys are in Pre-K and 1st grade. It was amazing how their skills had changed in a year!
Pre-Ker "O" started out and was a little confused with what he was painting :) What is THIS part going to be? I told him that pretty soon, he would know what everything was! For now, just cover the white with this blue!
And some browns for the water.
He also knew what he was painting now!
And then for his final part, I held the painting for him to paint in the last part.
Cute picture of him looking at the photo and his painting! He could totally see what he had accomplished.
Session 2:
Now older brother "W" came in to do the details. He started with lots of dot to dot painting to add lines for trees and the fence.
"W" also added lots of the greenery in today as well.
"W" had so much to do! He just did an amazing job! I put in some guides for him to
know where to dab his paint.
Next we did the grass reeds. "W" you painted with so many different brush strokes! Lots to do for a first grader! Very impressive!
Last meeting:
I had sketched in the boys for "W" to paint and did some paint outlining too for him to fill in. He did a great job today, and it was actually easier for him in a way because he knew exactly what he was painting.
Nice steady hand "W"!
And the fishing pole- he was so excited to do this part!
And- WAH- LAA! Grandma's gonna love it! Way to go boys!
