Grandma and Grandpa's Lake House

My good friend has been so excited for Little Picasso's success and is a true encourager to me.  So it was very fun to work with her 3 kids as they created Christmas gifts for their family.  Our first project was going to be based off of a photo of Grandma and Grandpa's house on the lake.    Her youngest artist was 8 and oldest was 15 so we were able to do so much with her photographs!

My first artist was 3rd grader "P".  He would be the youngest on this project, so would provide our base.  Here he is beginning the water...

Admiring his work...

Next the lawn....you can see my sketches here...

Our sky....

I loved talking to him!  He is the sweetest boy!

Now our trees....

I would create a space for him to fill in....and then he was off with lots of blotting!

Almost a wrap!

Now some more water work....

"P" wasn't sure what to expect with this painting stuff, but he had a great time and was so proud of his accomplishment!  So was I!  Excellent job "P"!  I was happy to know you would come back for more!

Now it was time for big sisters "M" and "E" to complete the projects.  6th grader "M" was first up, working on the house.

"M" was very concentrated!

Starting to fill in the sheds....

"M" had lots of details to do...

Looking good!

Now to the steps from the dock and the water...

"M" also filled in more of the greenery of the trees around the house.

There was so much we could do and she was so good at it, so we just kept going!

AMAZING!!!! "M" you should be proud!  Wow!

Adorable picture!

And finally, "E" was up.   She is a ninth grader and is taking a 2-D art class right now, so I basically told her what was left, and then talked while she painted :)

"E" was working on the rocks between the water and the yard...

Filling in well!

The rocks just set off this painting so beautifully!

"E" used a tiny brush to add more dimension by outlining her rocks.

Now we added more shrubs...

and finally, some white flowers in the yard.

"E" edged out the yard by the house. Then she also edged out the roof as well.

Then we called it a wrap!   Impressive image!  Thanks for a fun morning "E"!

I couldn't stop snapping pictures of this masterpiece!   It was so beautiful!   AWESOME JOB guys!  Looking forward to our next project!  It is amazing how the abilities of an eight year old all the way to a 15 year old can mesh so well on one painting!

I LOVE THESE KIDS!
