This Grandma was really and truly amazing in arranging schedules of 7 different grandchildren to have them all create special Christmas gifts for their parents. I love that she did this and had such a great time getting to know each set of kids, and Grandma as well. This was my last group of grandkids and they opted to paint a scene from their farm. Grandma did some photo shoots and we found the perfect picture to use for our painting. I had sketched out the painting so it was ready to go and "A" was my first painter.
I had him paint in some of the roof of the barn. I immediately was impressed with his careful and steady hand! He would be very precise in his project, which would make the picture amazing. Very exciting!
Next roof...and background of the heifer shed.
And then, 6 year old "T" came in to add the sky and grass. He was younger, but also a very careful and neat painter!
Looking good, but we needed to go over it more to smooth out that sky.
So careful!
Now we changed the painting technique to add texture to the grass...
You can see the barn buildings just come alive!
Now a few cows in the background and the fence.
I kept saying, one more thing, then you're done, but I said that at least 4 times! "A", you were such a good sport! One of those "things" was shading in the barrels.
And then, I had him add "one more thing" :) in the back windows in the heifer shed. Oldest sister "A" would be meeting with me next to finish that as well as a tree in the front of the property. In the meantime, I got to admire this great painting!
Sister Session:
Now "A" came to complete their painting! I had her start with some details in the back of the shed.
I had done some sketching for "A" to paint in, and you can see it in these pictures. It gave her a guide as to where to paint in the fences and beams.
Here she is filling in the troughs.
And now the tree branches! "A" was a total sweetheart. You know, I have to say, Grandma, all your grandkids were so great! Such happy kids!
And now "A's" final task- The cows! This was fun because she was able to paint HER cow, and her brother's cows too. She knew their colors and the details to add. Awesome!
"A"! Amazing work! What a special gift for your parents!
The photo shoot with the 3 kiddos when they came to pick up the painting. Thanks for all your hard work!
